Gefle IF FF secured a well-deserved victory in Monday's match against Helsingborgs IF at Gavlevallen. The match was played in front of 1,714 spectators, and it was the home team that took control from the start.
Already after 31 minutes of play, Gefle took the lead through Deniz Hümmet, assisted by Adam Bergmark Wiberg. Just before halftime, the home team extended their lead, again through Bergmark Wiberg, who headed in a corner from Hümmet.
At the beginning of the second half, Helsingborgs tried to get back into the match but could not find the net. After 65 minutes of play, Gefle attempted to bring in fresh legs as Juan Diego Gutierrez De Las Casas replaced Bergmark Wiberg.
In the 90th minute, Helsingborgs finally made a comeback in the match through Edwin Gyimah, following a pass from Darijan Bojanic. Unfortunately for the visitors, it was too late, and the match ended with a well-deserved 2-1 victory for Gefle IF FF.
After the match, Gefle IF FF remains in 11th place in the table, while Helsingborgs IF sits solidly in fourth place. The referee Victor Wolf, assisted by Jonas Bäcklund and Christian Tennstedt, were satisfied with the match and blew the final whistle without any major incidents.
