An exciting match was played on Sunday afternoon at Kopparvallen, where Åtvidabergs FF faced GAIS in Superettan. Referee Fredrik Klitte officiated the match with Pär Leek and Besim Boletini as assistant referees, in front of an audience of 2,059.

The match started evenly, and the visiting GAIS received a yellow card in the 29th minute when Daniel Janevski picked up a caution for an illegal tackle. Åtvidabergs FF took the lead in the 41st minute when Simon Helg managed to score, making it 1-0 for the home team.

GAIS responded quickly, and in the 46th minute, Simon Silverholt equalized for the visitors at 1-1. GAIS continued to press the home team, and in the 74th minute, Luka Mijaljevic scored, assisted by Daniel Bennassar Nilsson, putting GAIS ahead 1-2. However, the scenes that unfolded immediately after the goal were certainly unusual, as GAIS's assistant coach Conor McDonagh was sent off for attempting to enter the field.

The home team did not give up, and in the 84th minute, Adrian Petersson headed the ball into the net, scoring behind GAIS's goalkeeper. Assisted by Simon Helg, Åtvidabergs FF equalized to 2-2.

GAIS continued to apply pressure after taking the lead, but Åtvidabergs FF held firm. In the 90th minute, unfortunately for the home team, they had to continue without their goalkeeper coach Leif Eriksson, who was sent off after protesting against the referee's decision.

The match looked as if it would end in a draw for a long time, but in the 90th minute, Åtvidabergs FF had a chance to take the lead, and they seized it. Isac Lidberg was able to score 3-2 for the home team with an assist from Teddy Bergqvist.

After an exciting match between two teams that both fought hard for the victory, the match ended 3-2 in favor of Åtvidabergs FF. GAIS will head home and reconsider their strategy for the next match.
