It was a dramatic match between Halmstad and Athletic Eskilstuna at Örjans Vall. Already after one minute, Halmstad's physiotherapist Simon Bakkioui was sent off after an incident at the sideline. Despite this, it was Athletic Eskilstuna who took the lead in the match after seven minutes with a header from Zurab Tsiskaridze that went past the Halmstad goalkeeper.

However, Halmstad did not give up and created several dangerous chances going forward. Eventually, it paid off as Jonathan Svedberg scored a nice goal, equalizing the match to 1-1 after nineteen minutes.

In the second half, Halmstad continued to apply pressure, and eventually, the decisive goal came. Höskuldur Gunnlaugsson scored a goal after 60 minutes, assisted by Svedberg again.
