Jönköpings Södra IF secured an important victory at home when they faced Varbergs BoIS FC in Superettan. The match started badly for the home team as Varberg took the lead after just seven minutes through Nahom Girmai Netabay. However, Jönköping responded just nine minutes later when Erik Moberg headed in a free kick from Max Watson.

Jönköping then took control of the match, and in the 23rd minute, Daryl Smylie scored to make it 2-1 with a fine header following a corner taken by Jesper Svensson. In the second half, Varberg equalized from the penalty spot through Nahom Girmai Netabay, but Jönköping bounced back and Jakob Orlov gave the home team the lead again after a lovely pass from Tommy Thelin.

Tommy Thelin would also bring the match to a close by scoring Jönköping’s fourth goal with just a few minutes remaining. Varberg tried to come back, and Joel Palmquist and Perparim Beqaj were substituted in to attempt to save a point, but Jönköping held on and secured three important points. With 1,958 spectators present at Stadsparksvallen, referee Granit Maqedonci ensured that the match flowed smoothly without major interruptions.
