Gavlevallen was filled to capacity with 1,846 spectators when Gefle IF FF faced GAIS in the Superettan on Monday night. Referee Nermin Cisic blew the whistle to start the match, and both teams fought hard from the start.
The first half was evenly matched, with both teams creating some dangerous chances, but it was 0-0 when the referee blew for halftime. However, Jacob Ouro Ortmark of Gefle IF FF received a warning before the break.
The second half began just like the first – with a lot of battles and physical play. In the 64th minute, GAIS made two substitutions, while Gefle IF FF made their first substitution in the 77th minute. But it was not until the 80th minute that the match saw its first goal, when Adam Bergmark Wiberg of Gefle IF FF chipped the ball over the GAIS goalkeeper. The assist was credited to Piotr Johansson, and 1-0 to Gefle IF FF held until the end of the match.
Gefle IF FF brought in Albin Lohikangas in the 85th minute, and GAIS substituted in Andreas Brinkeborn Östling in the 86th minute, but none of these substitutions could change the outcome. However, August Strömberg of Gefle IF FF received a warning in the 88th minute, and Leonard Pllana of GAIS received a warning in the 90th minute.
