It was an exciting and tight match between GAIS and Syrianska FC at Gamla Ullevi today. With an attendance of 1,738 and referee Per Melin officiating, the match was filled with many incidents.
GAIS started strong and created several dangerous goal opportunities. However, after just 14 minutes, referee Per Melin showed the yellow card for the first time in the match, to GAIS's Karl Bohm, which caused GAIS to play more cautiously. After 30 minutes, Melin again brandished the yellow card, this time to GAIS's Evaldo Nascimento Lamaur Neto.
After a first half that was even and exciting with no goals, it was Syrianska FC that would find the net. In the 52nd minute, Andrew Michael Stadler scored his first goal of the season, assisted beautifully by Dida Rashidi.
GAIS of course tried to equalize, but Syrianska FC held firm and defended their lead. GAIS made several substitutions to try to inject more offensive power, but it didn’t help. Instead, Syrianska FC managed some dangerous counterattacks, and in the 75th minute, Dwayne St Aubyn Miller received a yellow card from the referee.
It was a tough match for both teams, but with the score remaining 0-1, Syrianska FC won away. They really needed these points, and the match showed that they are a strong and combative team capable of challenging other teams in the Superettan.
