Halmstad achieved an important victory in Superettan when they defeated Dalkurd 2-0 at home in front of a crowd of 1,195 at Örjans Vall. The home team took the lead just ten minutes into the match when Thomas Boakye found the net after a nice setup from his teammates. Halmstad continued to press and had several dangerous chances to extend their lead before Andreas Johansson scored the second goal just before halftime. Dalkurd fought to get back into the game during the second half, but Halmstad held firm defensively and also played skillfully in attack. However, Thomas Boakye, who scored the first goal, received two yellow cards in quick succession and was sent off with eight minutes left in the match. Dalkurd continued to challenge Halmstad but were never able to get the ball into the net. Halmstad therefore secured three important points in front of their home fans.
