Örgryte IS FF secured a well-deserved away victory against Östers IF on Sunday afternoon. The match kicked off at Visma Arena in Växjö in front of an audience of 1,312. Referee Johan Krantz and his assistants Marcus Lundgren Klitte and Danha Bachiri had full control of the match.
It was Örgryte who took the lead after 22 minutes through Alexander Bernhardsson, assisted by Ailton Jose Almeida. Östers IF battled hard and managed to equalize before halftime when Carl Johansson scored 1-1 after a fine pass from Simon Helg.
Early in the second half, Freddie Brorsson received a yellow card for a hard tackle. Shortly after that, Ailton Jose Almeida scored to make it 2-1 following a great pass from Jakob Lindström.
In the 68th minute, Örgryte made a substitution, bringing Melvin Frithzell on for Jakob Lindström. Östers IF tried to find an equalizer, but instead, Gustav Ludwigson scored in injury time, securing the victory for Örgryte while Östers IF suffered their fifth loss in Superettan.
Örgryte looked strong today and showed that they can challenge the best in the league, while Östers IF will need to regain momentum and confidence after this defeat.
