It was a real thriller at Vikingavallen/Täby IP 1 when IK Frej Täby hosted IK Brage in the Superettan on Monday evening. In front of an audience of 826, the match began with high tempo and intensity. However, the guests from Borlänge took the lead after eleven minutes when Bjarni Mark Antonsson headed in a ball following a nice pass from Robbin Sellin.
IK Frej Täby fought back and managed to equalize early in the second half with a free kick from Moustafa Zeidan. Just a few minutes later, the home team took the lead after a fine attack by Pedro Nezio De Araujo Lopes Ribeiro. But IK Brage did not give up, and Mattias Liljestrand managed to equalize in the 62nd minute.
The game remained evenly matched, but it was IK Brage who decided the match on a counter-attack in the 85th minute when Bjarni Mark Antonsson registered his second goal point of the evening after an assist from Christian Kouakou. Despite frantic attacking play from the home team, the guests from Dalarna managed to hold on and win the match 3-2.
It was a fiercely played match, and referee Antti Kanerva was forced to issue several warnings to both teams. Among others, IK Frej Täby's Jean Carlos De Brito received a yellow card during stoppage time. At the same time, he also demonstrated good leadership by trying to keep control of the game and calming down players who became too heated.
IK Brage took home three important points from Täby and climbed to third place in the table, while IK Frej Täby, after a tough match, remains in seventeenth place.
