On a sweltering Monday evening, Trelleborgs FF faced GAIS at Vångavallen in front of an empty stadium. It actually took quite some time before the first chance was created, but after 15 minutes, it was GAIS's Richard Yarsuvat who received the first yellow card of the match.
After 25 minutes, the home team Trelleborgs FF made their first substitution when Mouhammed-Ali Dhaini replaced Christian Thobo Köhler. A bit later, in the 42nd minute, it was time for the first goal. Trelleborg's number 7, Erik Andersson, shot the ball past the GAIS goalkeeper after a pass from Fritiof Björkén.
In the second half, several substitutions were made, the first being GAIS's Haris Cirak, who came on in the 66th minute to replace Fredrik Martinsson. In the 70th minute, Boris Lumbana received a yellow card for GAIS, and Trelleborgs FF made two substitutions as both Mattias Håkansson and Haris Brkic came on for Måns Söderqvist and goalscorer Erik Andersson.
GAIS also substituted Julius Lindberg and Emin Grozdanic in the 83rd and 89th minutes, replacing them with Paulo Marcelo Souza Alves and Jesper Brandt. However, it was Trelleborgs FF who would score again. In the 90th minute, Haris Brkic struck to make it 2-0 after an assist from Oscar Johansson Schellhas.
The match ended 2-0 in favor of Trelleborgs FF, who now sit in eighth place in the Superettan table, while GAIS is in tenth. Referee Granit Maqedonci and his assistants Pär Leek and Anders Böwing had a fairly calm match to manage with only two yellow cards and no direct dangerous situations.
