A hot and tough match took place at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg where GAIS hosted Trelleborgs FF. Before the match started, GAIS was in 14th place in the table while Trelleborgs FF was in 9th place.

The match started evenly with chances for both sides, but it was not until just before halftime that Trelleborgs FF’s Herman Hallberg received a yellow card.

The second half kicked off with a bang for GAIS as Julius Lindberg scored the first goal of the match in the 50th minute with an assist from Adnan Maric. After this, Trelleborgs FF desperately tried to get back into the game, but GAIS held strong in defense and prevented them from scoring.

In the 62nd minute, Charlie Weberg received a yellow card for GAIS, and shortly after, the coach made a substitution, bringing off Haris Cirak and substituting in Joackim Åberg. Trelleborgs FF quickly responded with two substitutions in the 74th minute, bringing off Abdul Fatawu Safiu and Oscar Johansson Schellhas, and introducing Mattias Håkansson and Haris Brkic.

With ten minutes left in the match, GAIS made two substitutions, taking off Niklas Andersen and Julius Lindberg and bringing on Emin Grozdanic and Emil Ek Wahlström. It was as if the substitutions gave GAIS extra energy as Mervan Celik found the back of the net in the 88th minute with an assist from August Wängberg. However, Trelleborgs FF was not beaten yet, as they were awarded a penalty in the 89th minute, which Herman Hallberg coolly converted.

The match ended 2-1 in favor of GAIS, marking their first victory in five matches. Even though the match was played without an audience, viewers at home were treated to an exciting game. Referee Per Melin and his assistants, Josef Alacam and Anders Böwing, did a good job managing the players.
