It was a close match at the Hitachi Energy Arena between Västerås SK FK and Örgryte IS Fotboll in the Superettan. After a strong start from the home team, it looked for a long time like Västerås would be able to win the match. Just one minute in, Erik Björndahl scored the first goal for Västerås after a nice assist from Taha Abdi Ali.
During the rest of the first half, Västerås continued to dominate with several dangerous chances in front of goal. Björndahl was close to scoring his second goal and Dusan Jajic also showed off his skills, threatening the opponent's goal.
Örgryte struggled to handle Västerås’ play and received two yellow cards before halftime. First, it was goalkeeping coach Björn West who was booked, followed by Eric Nohlgren who also received a yellow card.
The second half started with an increase in pace and Örgryte began to find their way into the match. Västerås received a yellow card early in the half after a tough challenge by Taha Abdi Ali. However, it was still Västerås who scored the next goal when Björndahl found the net again after a nice pass from Jajic.
Örgryte quickly responded by bringing in Ailton Jose Almeida, who immediately put pressure on Västerås’ defense. After several dangerous chances, Ajdin Zeljkovic reduced the deficit for Örgryte with a fine assist from Anton Andreasson.
In the final minutes, Örgryte continued to press forward, and eventually, Ailton Jose Almeida managed to put the ball in the net to equalize at 2-2 after an assist from Marcus Haglind Sangré.
The match thus ended in a draw, and Västerås lost the opportunity to move up into the upper half of the table. Örgryte retained their eighth place and continues to chase a better position.
