IK Brage surprised everyone when they faced league leaders IFK Värnamo at Borlänge Energi Arena on Saturday afternoon. The home team started the match strongly, and after eleven minutes of play, they took the lead through Joakim Persson, assisted by Seth Hellberg. It didn’t take long before Persson scored his second goal of the day, making it 2-0 for IK Brage, this time with help from Leonard Pllana, who also assisted the 3-0 goal in the 26th minute.
IFK Värnamo fought hard throughout the match to get back into it, but it was not until the 62nd minute that they managed to reduce the deficit when Charlie Vindehall scored with assistance from Felix Wennergrund.
Both teams made several substitutions during the match, with Värnamo trying to bring in new players to find a way back. But in the end, it was IK Brage who took home the victory with a score of 3-1. Towards the end of the match, Filip Sjöberg received a yellow card for the home team, but that did not get in the way of Brage's win.
With this surprising victory, IK Brage climbs up from the bottom of the table to 11th place, while IFK Värnamo still leads the league, but by a smaller margin. The audience present seemed pleased with the home team's performance and celebrated the victory in the stands after the match ended.
