MATCH REPORT: ATHLETIC ESKILSTUNA VS SKÖVDE AIK (1-2)
It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when Athletic Eskilstuna hosted Skövde AIK at Tunavallen in front of a crowd of 2,063 spectators. The match was officiated by referee Fredrik Hansson, with assistant referees Conny Hugman and Alexander Milovanovic. Both teams came into the match having a good start to the season, with Athletic Eskilstuna winning their first four matches and sitting at the top of the table, while Skövde AIK was in second place.
Already in the 24th minute, Athletic Eskilstuna's Abdul-Halik Hudu received a yellow card from the referee. It didn’t take long before Skövde AIK took the lead 1-0 through Mikael Mörk in the 26th minute, assisted by Jack Cooper-Love.
However, Athletic Eskilstuna was not to be outdone and equalized in the 30th minute. Amar Muhsin scored the team's first goal of the season, with André Alsanati providing the assist. The score was now 1-1.
In the 39th minute, Athletic Eskilstuna's Mikael Marques de Pombal Vivar also received a yellow card. It was only a couple of minutes later that Skövde AIK regained the lead. Just before halftime, Skövde AIK made their first substitution. David Engelbrektsson replaced goalkeeper Markus Fröjd in the 42nd minute. The second half began with a yellow card for Athletic Eskilstuna's Victor Fors in the 49th minute.
Both teams made additional substitutions throughout the match. In the 68th minute, Athletic Eskilstuna's Lawson Sabah was replaced by Felix Michel, while Oscar Lennerskog came on for Skövde AIK in the 69th minute, taking the place of Linus Mattsson.
Athletic Eskilstuna continued to show a lot of physical play, and Felix Michel received a yellow card in the 73rd minute. Ishak Shamoun replaced Aliyu Yakubu for Athletic Eskilstuna in the 83rd minute. Oscar Lennerskog was the next player for Skövde AIK to receive a yellow card in the 86th minute.
With just a few minutes left, Skövde AIK substituted Jack Cooper-Love for Gabriel Wallentin in the 90th minute. Filip Schyberg received a yellow card for Skövde AIK in the first minute of injury time, and shortly thereafter, Athletic Eskilstuna made their final substitution with Anton Ekeroth coming on for Victor Fors in the same minute.
The match concluded with yellow cards for both Skövde AIK’s Vladislav Kreida and Athletic Eskilstuna's Amar Muhsin in the second minute of stoppage time.
Skövde AIK managed to hold on and win the match 2-1. A strong victory against a well-performing Athletic Eskilstuna, who struggled to come back after Skövde AIK’s early goal. Skövde AIK thus maintains their position in the upper part of the table, while Athletic Eskilstuna suffers their first loss of the season.
