In the 60th minute, Östers IF was awarded a penalty which Adam Bergmark Wiberg converted reliably, leveling the score at 2-2. Both teams then made substitutions to try and inject some new energy into the game. But it was Skövde AIK's Jack Cooper-Love who would become the match hero when he scored his third goal of the evening in the 82nd minute, with the assist coming from Villiam Granath.
Östers IF fought to come back, but their attempts became increasingly frustrated. In the 87th minute, they had a player sent off; Mathias Nilsson received a red card after accumulating too many cautions. Skövde AIK's Gabriel Wallentin also began to behave inappropriately on the pitch and received two yellow cards in injury time, which led to his expulsion as well.
The match ended 3-2 in favor of Skövde AIK, who celebrated an important away victory in Superettan. Östers IF's defeat meant they dropped points in their quest for higher standings in the table.
