Both teams made several substitutions in the remainder of the match in an attempt to find the decisive goal. However, in the 73rd minute, the goal that would put Trelleborgs FF in the lead came. It was an own goal by Västerås SK FK that gave Trelleborgs FF a 4-3 lead.
Västerås SK FK fought hard to come back, and in the 85th minute, they managed to equalize. Viktor Granath scored his third goal of the match and his thirteenth of the season. Olle Edlund assisted the goal, and the score was now 4-4.
The match became increasingly intense towards the end, with a high tempo. Västerås SK FK received a warning in the eighth minute of stoppage time when Michal Pawlik received a yellow card.
