It was an exciting match at Gavlevallen as Gefle IF FF hosted Östers IF in the Superettan. Gefle, who were in 13th place in the table, really needed a victory, while Östers IF, sitting in 4th place, were seeking three points to continue their climb up the standings.

The match started with a high tempo, and after 39 minutes, Oscar Lundin from Gefle received a yellow card. Just before halftime, Östers' Daniel Ljung also got a yellow card. However, it was Gefle who took the lead in the match when Adrian Edqvist managed to score just before the referee blew for halftime.

Gefle continued to press in the second half, and just six minutes in, Antonio Yakoub scored Gefle's second goal in a stylish manner, assisted by Edqvist. But Östers was not willing to give up, and just a few minutes later, unfortunate for Kevin Persson, he scored an own goal that gave Östers a chance to come back into the match. Adam Bergmark Wiberg received a yellow card for the Östers team shortly after.

Östers made three substitutions after 68 minutes, and Gefle followed suit with two substitutions at the same time. With just over 15 minutes left in the match, it was still open. Jesper Jonasson Westermark scored Östers' second goal, leveling the match.

However, with less than five minutes remaining, the decisive moment came. Anton Lundin scored Gefle's third goal, with an assist from Jacob Hjelte, and Gefle was able to hold onto the lead until the final whistle, despite Östers making a substitution and bringing on Isak Magnusson for Niklas Söderberg just before the end. The final score was 3-2 in favor of Gefle, who managed to win and take home three important points.
