Västerås SK FK struggled to handle Utsikten's strong play and received an early warning when Alex Douglas was sent off by the referee. Utsikten continued to press, and with assistance from Fredrik Martinsson, Lucas Hedlund scored the team's second goal in the 29th minute.

The match got worse for Västerås SK FK when center-back Miguel Sandberg was sent off after a desperate tackle, forcing him to leave the field in the 22nd minute. Utsikten capitalized on Västerås SK FK's disadvantage and Herman Magnusson scored an own goal to make it 3-0 at the end of the first half.

Utsikten substituted Jesper Brandt in the 56th minute for Sebastian Lagerlund, but Västerås SK FK could not take advantage of the numerical superiority. A clear favorite to win the match, Utsikten had full control and extended their lead with a fine header in the middle of the second half. Coach Kaijser decided to start Yoann Fellrath, Mark Gorgos, and Karl Landsten, who had been on the bench, to bring in some fresh blood.

Västerås SK FK had a few chances towards the end of the match following an offensive change with the substitutions Jabir Abdihakim Ali, Filip Tronét, and Aly Coulibaly, but Utsikten's defense was impenetrable. Utsikten received a warning in the 90th minute when Yoann Fellrath was sent off by the referee, but the match ended 4-0. Utsikten maintains the lead in the Superettan after a dominant performance.
