It was an entertaining match between Västerås SK FK and Jönköpings Södra IF at the Hitachi Energy Arena. The home team, who were leading Superettan, took the lead in the 24th minute through Jabir Abdihakim Ali, who received a nice free-kick pass from Patric Åslund. Västerås had several chances to increase their lead, but Jönköping defended well.

In the second half, Västerås continued to create chances, but it wasn’t until the 61st minute that Patric Åslund doubled the home team’s lead. Simon Johansson set up Åslund for a fine shot from 20 meters out.

Jönköping made several substitutions to try to create something going forward, but it was Västerås who scored the next goal in the 66th minute. Olle Edlund took control of a ball from midfield and coolly finished past Jönköping's goalkeeper.

Marko Nikolic scored Jönköping's only goal in the 74th minute. Sadmir Zekovic assisted Nikolic, who shot in from close range past the committed home defense.

After that reducing goal, Jönköping upped the tempo, but Västerås held firm at the back. The home team had chances to score more goals but finished with a 3-1 victory. With this result, Västerås increased their lead at the top of the table while Jönköping fell to 13th place.
