In a decisive match for the Superettan title of the season, Västerås SK faced FK Östersund at home. It was an exciting match with several heated situations on the pitch, and the crowd at Hitachi Energy Arena held their breath throughout the game.

The match started with a warning for Östersund player André Österholm just four minutes in. Then, it took only ten minutes before the away team took the lead when Calvin Kabuye headed the ball into the Västerås goal after a fine pass from Erick Brendon Pinheiro da Silva.

Västerås tried to find their way back into the match but struggled to make the crucial passes. Östersund, on the other hand, was more aggressive going forward, and after half an hour of play, Malcolm Stolt managed to land a fine shot that went past the Västerås goalkeeper. Once again, da Silva provided the assist.

In the second half, Västerås substituted two players, bringing in Simon Johansson and Olle Edlund in an attempt to revive the team. Östersund also made two substitutions to maintain the pace.

The match became increasingly tough, and several warnings were issued to players from both teams. However, the away team, Östersund, managed to hold on until the final whistle and won the match 2-0. Västerås SK FK's season was thus over, but they celebrated a wonderful league victory instead. Östersund finished in fifth place in the table. The season was over, and attention turned toward next year’s edition of Superettan.
